Stylish Girl of The Month: Jennifer Lopez

I seriously can't beleive it is time to choose another stylish girl of the month. Today is the last day of May and while I chose to wait until the last day of this month to reveal my pick, it was only because I had the hardest time choosing who really was the most stylish girl of the month but I narrowed it down and finally chose another Jennifer this month, but Jennifer Lopez to be exact.

I thought about it and how many times she wowed me this month with her outfits out American Idol to her gorgeous gown at the Met Gala, Jennifer definitely proved she has impeccable style and deserves to be May's SGOTM. She hasn't always chosen the best outfits, but this month every thing she was seen in was beyond gorgeous! No wonder she was named People Magazine's Most Beautiful Person, and to think she had twins and her body still looks perfect! Check out below why I chose her!
Jennifer looking stunning in her Gucci gown at he Met Gala
JLO and Herve Leger pair very well together!
While I am normally not a fan of nude jumpsuits, Jennifer pulls off this Michael Kors one perfectly
Blue is definitely JLO's color! She shines in this Zac Posen dress and Brian Atwood heels
One can never be to old to have sparkle when Emilio Pucci is involved!

Stylish Fashion Company: Velvet Brigade

When I first started college at Colorado State, my original degree was Fashion Design. I always wanted to create my own clothing line but had no drawing abilities whatsoever, but I thought that college my teach me that, but at freshman orientation I saw my class schedule and knew that I wouldn't last so I quickly changed my major to fashion merchandising, but little did I know I would be graduating 3 years later with a BA in Fashion Marketing from AI Phoenix, needless to say a lot has changed in the past amazing three years of my life.
While I still can't draw that well, I have attended art school so I have gained some knowledge on drawing, but I knew when Shae at Bollare PR told me a new company she is working with, Velvet Brigade, I knew I had to tap into my inner fashion designer and share with my readers! Velvet Brigade's mission is to empower aspiring fashion designers and online communities of fashion-lovers to create an apparel brand together. So you don't have to be an artist to participate in this! So here is it how it works!

How it works:

Step 1. Submit a design: Aspiring Fashion designers, illustrators, hobbyists submit design ideas.
Step 2. Cast Your Vote:  The community comments on designs and votes for their favorites.
Step 3. Shop the Winners: Winning designs are put into production, the designers name is put on the tag and shares revenue with Velvet Brigade.
It's a place where anyone can go and submit a design and have the chance to make their dream come true! This is truly an incredible idea, and I am shocked that it is just now getting the press it should have gotten long ago!

Check out the website for all the details, and if you do submit a design, send it to me stylelista@stylelistaconfessions.com and I will make sure to get the word out about your entry!

Stylish Summer Must Have: Beach Bags

Since I am moving to SoCal very soon, I am almost positive that going to the beach will be a weekly activity for me! I am always wanting to bring practically my entire house with me, you never know what you might need at the beach, but never have a bag big enough to carry all my necessities. I remember growing up my mom always had the best beach bags and I would always want to carry one too and now that I am all grown up I can. I went through my bags and found that I don't really have a bag thats quite right for the beach so I decided to find some that are inexpensive and yet very stylish. Stylish Lazy Weekend

This past weekend was the first weekend in what seems like months that I have actually been off of school and work and could just relax with friends and myself. I am lucky to actually do the same thing this coming weekend as my little sister will finally graduate from high school but more on that later! I started off the weekend by spending the day on Saturday with my lovely best friend shopping and galavanting around the most amazing candy store ever. It was the perfect way to spend our day off and to get us pumped for our LA trip for my 21st! After such a fun Saturday, my Sunday was relaxing as I spent practically the entire day by the pool working on my tan and getting some much needed R&R. Its weekend like these that reminds me of how lucky I am to be in the place I am in my life and have such positive people surrounding me. I can't wait to have more weekends like this after graduation!
It Sugar store in Scottsdale Quarter, basically my dream place!
pool day was much needed!
I ended my relaxing weekend with a pop of blue to my nails.
China Glaze's Bermuda Getaway is the color with OPI Silver Shatter in there as well!
Hope all of you had a stylish weekend!

Stylish Designer Look Book: Winter Kate Fall 2011

I have been a fan of Nicole Richie since her Simple Life days and am a huge fan of both her successful companies, House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate. As I was reading up on the latest fashion news yesterday, I came across the latest pictures from Winter Kate's Fall 2011 collection and as usual am in love with every piece. While the line started out as very boho and hippie style, it has now grown into a very mature clothing line. With a soft color palette but pops of reds and blues throughout the collection, it is definitely a must have for fall! What is even better is that its not just fall only pieces, its versatile pieces that can be worn throughout the year, especially if you live in a place where fall is very short. While there is still the staple floor length floral dress the collection is based mostly on key tailored pieces. You can view the entire look book via Refinery29 but check out my favorite looks!

Stylish Summer Must Have: Neon Pants

Stylishly Neon
It's already obvious that I am OBSESSED with neon colors. I own multiple neon colored shirts, scope out any bright colored accessories, and am the first to jump at neon colored nail polish, but I have yet to catch on to the trend of neon colored pants. At work, my coworkers always laugh at me, because anything neon that comes in I scoop up before anyone else and when I saw a pair of mint green skinny's in the latest Free People catalog, I freaked and knew I had to get a pair of colored pants ASAP! I am seeing them everywhere and am kicking myself for not jumping on this trend sooner! I went online and searched for the best neon colored pants that won't break my college student bank account! Check out my top picks!
1. ASOS Pink Skinny Capri Jeans, $65
2. MOTO Coral Jamie Jeans, $80, Topshop
3. Skinny Stretch Jeans, $60, Zara
4. Rich & Skinny Bikini Ankle Crop, $128, Free People
5. Cheap Monday Jeans, $45, Yoox

Stylish Summer Beauty Tips: Perfect Summer Hair

I thought I would continue my stylish summer beauty tips and today talk about hair. I have had long hair for as long as I can remember, and during the summer months its a pain to have long hair when its over 110 degrees out. I am always resorting to throwing my head on top of my head and going, so you rarely see my hair straight and down during the summer. This summer, I am determined to change that thanks to some hair products that will make getting ready easier and fast. I have two hairstyles during the hotter months, either in a bun on my head or curly and straight all over the place. I am trying to get myself out of the hair rut and start doing my hair more often and keeping it healthy. I worked in a salon for almost 2 years, so I have plenty of hair products that I can use that will help my morning process. Check out my daily routine and some hair products I definitely recommend for straight and curly hair.

Straight Hair:
1. I wash my hair daily with M.O.P Glisten Shampoo and Conditioner. The all natural products smell amazing and leave my hair feeling super soft!
2. Once a week I use a hair masque which I live by and it literally does a 180 on my hair. Warren Tricomi Green Walnut Repair Hair Masque is literally the most amazing hair masque ever! It smells incredible and makes my hair softer than ever!
3. After I shower, I spray on Ojon Revitalizing Mist to help protect against the heat of my dryer and flat iron.
4. Once I blow dry and flat iron, I spray Redken Shine Spray, which helps my frizz and gives my hair shine. I will also spray this if I decide to retouch to give my hair a little bit of a boost!

Curly/Wavy Hair:
1. When I choose to wear my hair curly I usually wash with Redken All Soft, so that my hair is extra soft when I get out of the shower
2. After washing and conditioning, I spray in It's A Ten Miracle Leave In which gives my hair an extra boost of conditioning
3. I have sold Mark by Avon for two years now, and I swear by their Curl Goddess with Sunflower Scrunch Spray, it brings out my natural wave without making it look dirty or knotty.
4. To set my hair after everything, I spray some Redken Shine Glam shine spray and I am ready to go!

Stylish Beauty Tips: Clear Sunkissed Skin

With graduation quickly approaching, I have been under a lot of pressure and when I am stressed my face loves to take the brunt of it and break out, which is definitely not stylish. I am not afraid to admit that I have struggled with acne practically my entire life. I have been on Accutane and every medicine ever created, but since moving to Arizona I have been lucky enough to keep it under control thanks to the dry and hot weather. Well, unfortunately right now I'm not so lucky in that I am in a time when my face just doesn't want to clear up and while I am trying to keep my stress under control, some things I just can't control completely. I do sometimes put my face in the sun to help, but even that isn't helping this time around. I do have a few products that I live by and always want to share with my readers and I began researching other products that other people swear by and am definitely going to try them and see if they can beat my struggling acne.
Summer Skin
1. Since I had my job at Ulta, I became a pretty good expert on skincare and I swear by the Clarisonic
It is literally the best thing ever invented and takes the annoyance out of washing your face and makes you actually want to wash it!
2. I always get made fun of my by my family that I look like a raccoon in the morning since my eye makeup never seems to fully come off.
With the Neutrogena gentle makeup wipes, I can solve that issue! While the liquid on a cotton ball is too much for, these are perfect and quick!
3. I have used Cetaphil moisturizer for as long as I can remember and its the only lotion that doesn't make my skin oily or break me out!
4. I have probably tried every single facial cleanser available, and that it NO exaggeration, and when a friend suggested Biore, I tried it and have been using it ever since. It's gentle yet strong enough to usually clear my breakouts pretty fast!

What are the products you swear by?

Stylish Fashion Recap: 2011 Cannes Film Festival

I have been lucky enough to have visited Europe on two different occasions but the one place I haven't been able to visit is Cannes. I have known about this city due to the annual film festival where the most glamourous celebrities attend and it is located on the gorgeous French Riviera. Since its May, its time for the annual Cannes Film Festival  and of course our favorite celebrities were in attendance and dressed from head to toe in pure stylish glamour promoting their latest films. The fashion was the epitome of summer, lots of flowy dresses and lots of pale colors. Check out a few of my favorite celebrities seen at the festival!
Uma Thurman flaunts feathers in this Versace white gown.
Sarah Jessica Parker shines in this Dolce and Gabbana gown.
I am IN LOVE with this Monique Lhullier outfit seen on Rachel McAdams (yay for her being blonde again!)

Stylish Weekend Recap: Chelsea Handler in the Valley

So with graduation only 32 days away and me working everyday I am not in school (i.e. 5 days a week) finding time for anything fun seems to be more and more rare. Well on one of my few days off of work and school, I finally found time to go get my favorite E! star/comedian/author/funniest women alive to sign my book... CHELSEA HANDLER! I unfortunately didn't get to attend her stand up show that (sucks being a broke college student) but I did however go with a dear friend to get my Lies That Chelsea Handler told me book signed by the women herself! I had heard rumors she was rude and standoffish but I was pleasantly surprised to find out she was warm and inviting and even personalized my book! I will say in the last year, getting to meet two of my favorite celebrities, Lauren Conrad and Chelsea Handler, at the same bookstore has made living in Phoenix just a little bit better! Check out some pictures I snapped of Ms. Chelsea herself :) Hope you all had a lovely weekend, and are ready for along stylish week!
look, she even personalized it for me!
Thanks Olga for a few of the pictures :)

Stylish New Obsession: Maxi Dresses

Today I am getting an incredible opportunity to meet the owner of Free People. While it's quite an honor to have been chosen by my boss to meet her its also extremely nerve-wracking as she is the head honcho of the company and is the reason why FP is so successful! Of course with this meeting, I have to represent the brand in more ways than ever, so I splurged on an item that I have been wanting for a while, a maxi dress. Since FP is all about layering, I chose a solid grey maxi under a red printed maxi dress that is my style.

As I was trying the dress on I realized that maxi dresses don't look horrible on me and that I definitely am going to start shopping for me in the future! I have always loved Gypsy 05 and FP maxi dresses, but always thought since I had such a long torso that maxi dresses just looked awkward on me but I was pleasantly surprised to see they actually flatter me very nicely and they are SO comfy! I have been lusting over a few maxi dresses that I of course am sharing them with you :) I am excited to be stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things!

2. Sunburst Maxi, $118, Free People (this is my next purchase at work when we get my size in!)

Stylish Summer Must Have: Espadrilles

I am always shoe shopping, no matter if I need a new pair or not! I have been amazed at how popular espadrilles have become, I initially always thought they were only cute in a wedge or a heel but the flats are definitely catching my attention more and more. They are not only the perfect summer shoe, but they are extremely comfortable which is the definite selling point for me! While one might think the infamous Toms are basically what an espadrille is, they are similar but have a different bottom. While I absolutely love my Toms and wear them as much as I can, I am excited to give my sparkly Toms a breather and embrace a hot summer trend, Espadrilles! I of course couldn't wait to share my favorite Espadrilles ranging from heels to flats! Do you own a pair? What are your favorites?
Summer Espadrilles
1. DVF Cadence Espadrille Flat, $98, Nordstrom
2. Soludo Costa Espadrilles, $28, Oak
3. Jianna Espadrille, $168, Free People
4. DV by Dolce Vita Toni Espadrille Sandal, $79, Nordstrom
5. Basic Marley Espadrille, $22, ASOS

Stylish New Designer: Ramy Brook

I have become really lucky to be in constant communication with various PR companies which include ODA PR and Bollare PR. Mary over at ODA PR sent me over a press release of a new client of theirs, Ramy Brook. I am always excited to hear about the latest designers hitting the scene and this designer is no exception.I am actually shocked to not have heard of this designer sooner as she is a favorite of my favorite E News! host Guiliana Rancic!

The Ramy Brook brand is a lifestyle one with modern and wearable styles that are intended to carry a women from day into night. With eclectic 70's aesthetic, much like the owner Ramy's personal style, the line is very much inspired by the Upper East Side Women, one who is a wife and a mother and has a very busy social life. This line is awesome because it offers luxurious and stylish clothes to women, no matter what their age is. The line is entirely made in New York out of luxurious fabrics like crepe, satin back crepe, charmeuse, chiffon, and jersey. The latest collection from the designer, Fall 2011, is all based around "modern chic"sophisticated pieces for women of all ages. As of now, Ramy Brook is sold online and in various boutiques in New York, Philadelphia, and Miami. I am sure Ramy will expand her stores in the near future! You can also find her on Facebook and Twitter! Check out some of my favorite looks from her latest collection!
