Stylish Halloween Weekend

Well it's finally Friday, and while I may not be a big Halloween fan, I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend with my friends! No costumes for me but I will be writing about my favorite celebrity costumes next week so stay tuned! Until then have a stylish weekend and a stylish Halloween!

Rocky Horror Glee Show

While Halloween might not be my favorite holiday, this week Glee did a tribute to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and I was more than excited! I first saw this movie when I was little thanks to my mom who grew up watching it! As if I didn't love Glee enough already, this week's tribute made me even more obsessed! As they did The Time Warp dance and Finn and Rachel played Brad and Janet, I was dancing as I watched the episode and didn't want it to end! Below are some pictures from the episode! You must go online and watch this episode its a must watch!

Stylish Beauty Line: Diane von Furstenberg

As if I didn't love Diane von Furstenberg enough already, the announcement in WWD that she will be releasing a beauty line thrilled me! I am addicted to beauty products almost as much as I am addicted to clothing and accessories. Launching in the Fall of 2011 with ID Beauty, the beauty line will be available at Sephora stores and will put everything DVF is known for, sexy, sophistication, and independence. The line will begin with the debut of a signature scent with other products to follow! This is definitely stylelista approved and I know I can't wait to learn more about this line in the coming months!

Vogue Stylish Cover Girl: Anne Hathaway

I will admit I have a girl crush on Anne Hathaway! Not only is she naturally gorgeous but her down to earth attitude and impeccable style makes me envy her! When I received the newest issue of Vogue and saw Anne gracing the cover, I was more than ecstatic to read the article on it! Photographed by the incredible Mario Testino, Anne portrayed Audrey Hepburn and the shoot took place in my favorite city, Paris! She look gorgeous in gowns from Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang, and Badgley Mischka just to a name a few! Anne is definitely stylelista approved!

Stylish Experience: Homemade Enchiladas

I had a very exciting weekend! I got the opportunity to model for a 1920's vintage photo shoot for one of my friends (stay tuned for a post on that tomorrow!), have a fun filled girls night with my 2 best girlfriends, and I ended the weekend by making homemade enchiladas! Yes you heard right, HOMEMADE enchiladas and I cooked them! While cooking may not be my first choice of activities, I took on the challenge since I am having a friend stay with me and I wanted to make a meal that I normally wouldn't make for one person! I started by finding a recipe online, and decided upon Food Network chef Tyler Florence's recipes plus a few tips from my mom's own amazing recipe! I was a little nervous I will admit but it turned out way better than I expected and they were delicious! I of course documented my stylish experience in the kitchen!
seasoning the chicken breasts
cooked chicken with stewed tomatoes, onions, garlic gloves and corn
preparing the pan to make the enchiladas!
cook for 20 minutes
garnish with cilantro and tomatoes and viola! homemade chicken enchiladas!

Stylish Trend: Ombre Hair

Many of you may or may not know this but I am obsessed with getting my hair done! I am naturally very  blonde, but as I have gotten older it has gotten darker and thus I have had to color it to recreate how light it was when I was younger. I have an amazing hair stylist, the only person I trust with me hair! I religiously get my hair colored every 4 weeks, and my mom constantly tells me I need to darken it. As I get closer to finishing school I am busier and busier and squeezing in those hair appointments is getting increasingly harder. While I wish that hair color could last forever, it doesn't so I need to find an alternative.

So I introduce Ombre Hair. What's ombre you ask? Well just take a look at stars like Lauren Conrad and Hilary Duff. Its a gradual color change, darker at the root and lighter towards the bottom. At first glance, you might think it resembles excessively grown out roots, but its more of a contrast between light and dark. Another plus, it requires much less upkeep than regular coloring! I am highly considering doing in the next week when I go in for my appointment!

Stylelista Daily Style

While it may be fall in other parts of the country, Arizona finally saw it's first real day of fall weather, while it may have been raining it still was cooler and I got to bring out my new sweater and wear my coveted boots (read about them here!) and actually not be overheating. Well I thought I would share my outfit since I am always talking about my clothing purchases but never show my readers so it's time to share!

Stylelista Obsession: Crossbody Bags

I have a new obsession, Crossbody/Shoulder Bags. I have been obsessed since I went to Europe and realized I was the only one without one and since then I have been on a mission to find the perfect match! While in LA last weekend, my friend had the perfect one from Urban and even though I adore my Longchamp "Le Pliage" bag, a crossbody would have been much easier for Disneyland and the large amount of shopping I did! Well today at work I finally found one that I knew I had to have, and while it is definitely not something you would see me carry, I felt I had to step outside of my comfort zone and purchase it! I have been shopping online and found a few others that I think are a stylelista must have!

Stylish Girl of the Month

I will admit I am  90210 addict, I sit down and watch it weekly so when I went on WhoWhatWear yesterday morning and saw the newest character Ivy, better known as Gillian Zinser, I was more than excited to see how she achieves her unique style. She reminds me of the ideal California girl, casual and laid back but still so chic and stylish. While Gillian is ironically a New York native she epitomizes the style of a native Californian! As the editors of Who What Wear stated "she has a mix of Erin Wasson and Sienna Miller." She isn't afraid to mix and match prints and patterns and mixes various textures which all turn out fabulous! She loves long flowy skirts and boyfriend inspired pieces, she has even borrowed shirts from her dad's closet and worn over various tops and dresses! Below are some of Gillian's looks and how she has become WhoWhatWear's October Girl of the Month.

Stylish Weekend Away Recap

I have returned from my mini vacation in the city of angels and I will admit, I was NOT excited to come home. After spending 4 days in my favorite place in the country, visiting with my family, reuniting with my friends, and visiting the happiest place on Earth, why would I want to come home! While the trip was based upon LA Fashion Week, unfortunately we didn't really do anything related to that but its okay. We sat in traffic for almost 3 hours missing the show we were planning on attending but instead went to the grove, (see this post for amazing info on the mall) and shopped and ate dinner and celebrated our last night in beautiful LA!

But lets backtrack, I of course went to Disneyland, and had a blast! We got to see the park decorated for Halloween and we were on a mission to take a picture with as many of the characters as we could (some were impossible to find!) We then got to see friends in San Clemente and finally go to the beach and it was amazing! We went to a numerous amount of malls from South Coast Plaza to The Block at Orange to The Grove! It was a weekend of stylish relaxation and adventure. I know that I can't wait to finally move back and live that life everyday! Below are some pictures from my trip!

Victoria Beckham Stylish Handbag Line

If you are a handbag lover like me you know that an Hermes Birkin bag is basically the god of all handbags! It is the most classic bag and is carried by the A-list celebrities one in particular Victoria Beckham. her handbag collection is said to be worth over 2 million dollars so designing her own handbag line only seems logical to add to her growing resume! Her handbag line was debuted this new during New York Fashion Week when her Spring 2011 collection was shown. They are Hermes look-alikes with a very Victoria feel and are a must have for every stylelista! While they are still pretty pricey they are much less than a Hermes Bag and are gorgeous! They are set to be in Bergdorf Goodman stores in December.

Gossip Girl Style: Botkier "Maddie Bag and more"

As I have stated in prior posts I am a Gossip Girl addict and each week I look forward to the new drama happening and of course the fashion! Every week each character is wearing an amazing outfit in every scene. If you know anything else about me you know I love twitter and twitter contests! I follow handbag line Botkier and they held a contest this week, snap a twit pic of Juliet carrying Botkier's Maddie tote and a a random entry will win that bag! So of course I jumped at the opportunity and watched every so closely for the scene where Juliet aka Katie Cassidy carries the gorgeous bag! Along with that bag there was some amazing fashions. Newcomer Clemence Posey was spotted wearing a Free People skirt which is my favorite item at work right now!

Spotted: Lauren Conrad in the Valley!

So this past weekend was a exciting one for me! It was not only Phoenix Fashion Week but I got to meet my stylish idol, Lauren Conrad! Yes you heard me stylelista's, LAUREN CONRAD! She was in the Valley promoting her newest books which you can read about here  and of course I had to be there! So along with my 3 girlfriends we waited  patiently in line to have Lauren sign our books written by her! When it was finally my turn I was so excited and what did Lauren say," OMG I love your boots" I literally almost screamed! She said they were just like the ones featured in her style book and asked where they were from! So yes I got to have a conversation with Lauren, even if it was only thirty seconds it made my life :) Having LC approve my outfit made my life basically complete! I am pretty sure I will never ever get rid of those "Steve Madden Intyce" boots, best stylish purchase ever! Here are some pictures from my stylish experience!

She is just as gorgeous in person as she is on tv!

Au revoir Paris...

So yesterday morning my alarm was set for a early time of 5:25 am to watch the Louis Vuitton show, but as my alarm went off that extra half hour of sleep was chosen over the show, while I may have missed the show live, I did get to watch it when I was much more alive and awake and wasn't disappointed. Marc Jacobs had an amazing collection in New York and created another amazing collection for Louis Vuitton! I also caught Miu Miu's Spring 2011 collection and it was a perfect ending to a month long of amazing fashion. While fashion week in New York, London, Milan, and Paris may be over that doesn't mean our favorite designers aren't already hard at work on their next collections. Here are some of my favorite looks from LV and Miu Miu collections!

Bittersweet Chanel

Chanel is one of my favorite designers, and when I visited Paris this summer I saw where my favorite design house all began. Yesterday, Karl Lagarfield debuted his Spring 2011 collection and it was as usual spectacular! This collection was all about tweed suits with pops of color and lots and lots of tulle. As Bittersweet Symphony played in the background as 80 models walked in over 85 looks for Spring 2011. Of course fashionista's like Rachel Bilson, Vanessa Paradis, Claudia Schiffer, Alexa Chung,  and Lily Allen were front row cheering on another great season for Chanel. The collection was incredible and kudos to Karl for another successful season! Here are my favorite looks.
