Stylish Girl of the Month: Emma Roberts

I can't tomorrow is the last day of June! I can't believe that my birthday is on Friday! eeeek! The end of June also means that it is time to announce the pick for June's Stylish Girl of the Month. I feel like as I was reading through my regular fashion magazines and going on the daily blogs I read, Emma Roberts was a consistent face I saw throughout, so of course she has to be June's SGOTM! Not only does she have the COOLEST aunt on the face of the planet, she has made quite a name for herself starring in lead roles in awesome movies like Valentine's Day and The Art of Getting. She has also become a favorite on the red carpet with her effortless style and California attitude, she is hands down one of my favorite actresses right now! Check out why below!
Looking gorgeous in Elie Saab at the Scream 4 premiere in LA
She shined at the Met Gala in this white Michael Kors gown and Chopard earrings
Again stunning in this Jenny Packham gown at the 2011 Vanity Fair Oscar party
She is definitely a fashionista and stylelista! Here she is wearing a Chanel cuff and Brian Atwood pumps!
Sleek and gorgeous in a black Stella McCartney dress
Even in a tee shirt and jeans, her style is to die for!

Stylish Perfume Must Haves

Along with nail polish, I have a severe addiction to perfumes. This addiction started wayy before my nail polish obsession and I think was made worse by working in a beauty store and having a pretty decent discount. Once I left Ulta and started working for Free People, I channeled my obsession on clothes (I think I may need therapy haha) This weekend as I was shopping at the local Ulta in Houston, I realized it has been ages since I've bought any new fragrances and I knew that had to change. SO many new scents have been released and I could have been purchasing them so I spent a good amount of time in the fragrance section and made a list of my must have scents that I have to buy! I will always be a fan of Miss Dior Cherie, but sometimes a girl's gotta mix it up right?

from left to right: Vera Wang "Preppy Princess", Kate Spade"Twirl", Pucci "Miss Pucci",  Marc Jacobs "Daisy Eau So Fresh", Lolita "Lempicka" Cartier "Delices"

Stylelista Summer Style: High Waisted Shorts

As I was packing last week for my trip to Houston, I came across a pair of high waisted shorts that I bought in London last year at TopShop. I tried them on and was beyond excited that they still fit so of course they came along with me to Texas and when I put the outfit on, I knew it was the perfect ensemble to share on my blog! If you know me, you know that during the summer I am notorious for wearing shorts and a tank top, since it's so hot, but mixing up my wardrobe every now and again is always good! Check out my outfit and let me know your opinion! :)

Shorts: TopShop
Sandals: Steve Madden Saharra

Stylish Trend: Color Blocking

The hottest trend right now in my opinion is color blocking. While this may not be a new trend, it is definitely coming back in a big way! From clothing to accessories to even beauty, color blocking seems to be everywhere and I definitely am loving it more and more! You can create an entire outfit mixing and matching different colors and look like you just stepped out of a fashion magazine, which is definitely a stylish plus! I thought I would share some of my favorite color block looks from all different aspects including fashion, beauty, and home decor! Happy Friday!

Stylish Must Have Item: Maxi Skirts

Since I bought my first maxi dress (refresh your memory here) I have since bought another one that is equally as adorable. The other day I was meeting a friend for lunch and she walks in wearing an adorable black maxi skirt and a white tank. She look effortlessly stylish and since then I have been determined to find a maxi skirt that is equally as cute. Working at Free People, I am surrounded by maxi skirts and dresses all the time, so I think its time to jump on this trend! Stylish Must Haves: Summer Vacation Packing

I guess I can officially say that I am in post graduation mode. Not being in school and not having homework is something I barely have ever expierenced for as long as I can remember, so finding things to do is really vital for my sanity. I am leaving for California next week to celebrate my 21st birthday with my best friend, but before then I am making a quick trip to Houston to visit with my family and get some much needed R&R. I will only have one day between my Houston and California trip, so for the next two weeks I will be living out of a suitcase, which is something I strongly dislike. I like to be able to have all my stuff to choose from, but since that isn't possible, I decided to make a list of the items I can't live without on both of my upcoming trips. These are items I will not leave home without and are staples for every trip I go on, especially the two coming up. Check out my must have items!

As I have said a million times before, my go to bag is my Longchamp Le Pliage bag, it's my staple bag for every trip I take.
Inside I always carry my:
1. Macbook Pro- I need this no matter what.
2. Clarisonic- I must maintain my skin regime no matter where I am
3. Amazon Kindle- I have multiple books waiting to be finished
4. Makeup Forever Matte Foundation- Perfect for touchups after a long flight
5. At least one bottle of nail polish- I usually bring tons but one is the minimum
6. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes- these things take off stubborn makeup stains and don't leave me with raccoon eyes!
7. My lips are ALWAYS dry and Aquaphor is the product I go to to prevent cracking and pain!
What are your items you can't live without while traveling?

Stylish Season 2 Premiere: Pretty Little Liars

I have been so bummed lately since school is done and I actually have free time to watch tv yet all my shows are on summer hiatus. Last night I was beyond excited when my guilty obsession, Pretty Little Liars, returned for its second season. I seriously can't get enough of this show and am equally as obsessed with the fashion on the show as I am with the drama. I love that the stylists for the girls are obsessed with Free People, at least one girl is wearing something from the brand in every episode. Last night's premiere was JAW DROPPING, so many things happened I don't even know where to begin. Melissa finally starting to believe Spencer, Ezra and Aria might be over, Caleb returns for Hanna it was an episode jam packed with drama! I can't wait to see what happens during this season. Check out some pictures from last nights stylish episode! If you haven't started watching this show you are missing out!

My amazing hair stylist Ann offered to put a few hair extensions in my hair to give it some fullness and also decided to curl my hair. Stylish Fashion Show Recap: Resort 2012

I can't believe my graduation week is finally here! It is so weird to think that in 4 short days I will have a college diploma in my hands and will no longer be a fashion student. It's definitely bittersweet. With graduation and my hectic schedule I completely spaced on the Resort 2012 shows . I managed to spend my Sunday catching up on all the shows I missed in the past few days. While I love the couture shows and the fall and spring fashion weeks, I have always been in love with all the designers resort collections. While some of the things shown in fall and spring are not always items I can wear, Resort Collections always seem a bit more relatable and practicable for someone like me. From gorgeous gowns to lots of colors, Resort Week is definitely putting everyone in the summer spirit! Check out some of my favorite looks from Resort Week thus far.

I want this DVF dress for my birthday! Gorgeous color!
This Rebecca Taylor jump suit is adorable! I definitely am loving this look!
Words can't explain my obsession with this YSL gown!
Rachel Zoe knows exactly what every girl needs in her closet during the summer... a playful flirty dress!
Every girl must own a classic Missoni dress once in her lifetime... hopefully this will be mine!
I love that Lorena Sarbu is getting the much needed press she deserves, I am grateful to have interviewed her. This pink dress is stunning!
Have I mentioned I LOVE HOT PINK! This dress by McQ is beyond amazing!
Christian Dior knows the ideal beach look!
I am excited to know that sequins and gold are not out! Thanks Tibi!

Stylish Summer Beauty Tips: Wet Hair Styles

I am notoriously guilty of walking out the door with wet hair, especially during the summer. With long hair its quite a process to blow dry and flat iron my hair and its much less stress in the morning to just brush and go, but while I can't do that because my hair is wavy I am always putting it in a braid or throwing it on top of my head so I am on the hunt for new hairstyles that I can do with wet hair that still look professional. While I am done with school and will be hunting for jobs full time now, going to an interview with wet hair is probably not the most professional look, but on my days off to run errands or lunch with a girlfriend, these hairstyles below are definitely a must try!

Stylelista's Favorite Things for Summer

I guess you can say my summer has officially started. Last night was my last college class ever and it feels so surreal to be practically done. Now all that's left is Portfolio Review next Friday and then I am officially a college graduate! Thankfully, I am done with all things portfolio so I can start to somewhat enjoy my much deserved break after 15 years of non stop school! First thing on the agenda: lay by the pool with my favorite Free People visual manager and blogger! I can't even begin to explain how proud I am of myself for finishing strong and going for my dreams! I definitely recommend doing EXACTLY what you love to do, no matter what that may be! Take a look at a few of my favorite things for summer!

Stylish Lusts and Musts: Platforms

As I have mentioned in the past, I am not really a heel person but am trying to transition in to wearing heels when appropiate. Since my 21st birthday is close and I am graduating college, heels will need to become a staple in my wardrobe especially for interviews and events. I am more comfortable wearing wedges but wanted something close to a wedge that I could wear as well and I have come to really adore platforms. I feel like they are everywhere and they really are a perfect shoe for someone who isn't a heel pro! So I went online and found the cutest platform heels: my lusts and musts. and all my lusts are $100 and below so they won't break my bank account!
