Stylish Lowdown on Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020

If you follow me over on Instagram you might remember seeing a poll I did on my stories about the coveted #NSale. 2020 is obviously a very different year so I wanted to be sensitive to the fact that I know not everyone might not be shopping during this time, but an overwhelming amount of you said you were going to be shopping so I will doing another year of coverage for the Anniversary Sale. Nordstrom has adjusted the sale this year by first pushing the sale back an entire month. This year,, the sale goes from August 19-30th. Along with the new date comes a whole new way to actually preview what is going to be on sale. Instead of sending a print catalog out like they always do, starting July 24th (this Friday) they will be releasing the same items on their website and through a digital catalog where you can save the items you are wanting and come back when the sale opens up. Those are the two biggest changes so far but I suspect that with everything going on, the selection of items might not be as wide spread as years past, which is 100% understandable. Like I always do, I want to break down the ins and outs of the sale so you can navigate it the most successfully. 

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

The Anniversary Sale is Nordstrom's biggest sale of the year, seriously! This sale allows shoppers to shop New Arrivals from some of the hottest brands including Madwell, Vince etc. at a discounted price (up to 50% off) before the prices go up to regular price. Some of the items featured normally NEVER go on sale, so this is the time to snag those fall must haves! There are no promo codes, everything is reduced during the time frame of the sale. 

Important Dates to Remember

The sale opens to the public (meaning non Nordstrom cardholders / Nordy Club member) on August 19th, but if you're a Nordstrom cardholder / Nordy Club member, the date you can shop depends on your status. AKA how much you spend per year.

July 24, Preview Opens to EVERYONE

August 4-18, Icon Early Access 

August 7-18, Ambassador Early Access

August 10-18, Influencer Early Access

August 13-18, Insider Early Access

August 19, Sale Opens to the Public

August 30, Sale ends and prices go back up

Best Advice for the Sale?
My advice for shopping the sale, because we all will probably make multiple purchases, is to snag those hot items first before they are gone. This includes cardigans, tees and anything on the lower price point (I would say under $50). Also if you like multiple colors or are not sure of the item sizing, order multiple! There is nothing worse than ordering the wrong size and coming back and finding it's sold out, Nordstrom has FREE returns and is probably the easiest company to do returns at, so it's well worth it!
