The word cancer hits very close to home as I have lost several family members to it. Breast cancer has not directly affected me personally, but I have seen many close friends encounter it and any way I can help is key for me. As I mentioned earlier this month, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there are so many different ways you can help the fight against this heartbreaking disease. I have partnered up with some fellow bloggers, PopSugar Inc, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and the CFDA's Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative to help raises funds and public awareness for breast cancer in the U.S. and internationally. From October 17th through the 23rd, 50% of all the sales made from this specific post will go directly towards the CFDA's foundation! It gets even better, PopSugar Inc will match all those sales from the links $1 for $1 and also make a separate $5,000 donation. Philanthropy and Fashion have intertwined and you see SO many huge brands giving back in their own way in many different ways. Growing up, I was very much a lover of giving back to my community and as an adult with work, family and friends it can be hard to find the time to give back. This is the perfect way to give back and it's something I do already! Since fall is in full spring, I thought what better than to share a seriously hot fall trend, velvet! You might remember velvet being hot a few years ago but it is back and better than ever! I scoured the web for some of my favorite velvet items that are a must for any wardrobe!
