Yesterday marked the start of Paris Fashion Week and I think I am more excited than a little kid going to Disneyland for the first time, I can't stop dreaming about Paris and all of it beauty and how the most incredible fashion will be! With today being leap day and being day 2 of PFW I can only imagine how incredible the shows will be

A Stylish Pick Me Up

Yesterday was a gloomy day in SoCal and it made my attitude gloomy as well. I haven't been feeling myself lately and as I was trying to cheer myself up I came across this quote on Pinterest by none other than Helen Keller. It definitely turned my mood around!

Stylishly Best Dressed: 2012 Academy Awards

The Oscars are like the Superbowl of red carpet fashion and living in Los Angeles this year and so close to the actual awards makes me so excited and feel like I am a part of the show. For me my Oscar recap is one of my biggest posts of the year and I literally can't wait to share my picks for best dressed. I started watching the coverage at 10:30 am and haven't turned it off until the last award was given. Seriously the fashion was beyond incredible from one shoulders to sequins to long sleeve gowns the fashion was hands down the best of the season as it should be! My best dressed pick was a unanimous choice among all the people I have talked to! Check out my picks below!
Octavia Spencer, whom also won for best supporting actress, looked absolutely beautiful in Tadashi Shoji gown.
Milla Jovovich happend to be the first star on the red carpet that I saw was gorgeous in this white Elie Saab sequin gown.
I can't believe Shaileene Woodley is only 20 years old, she is a beauty in this white Valentino Couture dress.
Viola Davis was shining in this emerald Vera Wang gown. Can I just say how amazing she looks with her hair all natural!
The minute I saw this Joanna Johnson gown on Maya Rudolph, I was in love! She is stunning!
A shocking best dressed for me this year was Tina Fey, she was all around incredibly dressed in this Carolina Herrera navy gown.
While announcing an award, I am pretty sure Jennifer Lopez was about to have a wardrobe malfunction, on the red carpet she looked beautiful in this Zuhair Murad gown.
Even if it was just a simple black gown, Angelina Jolie was of course stunning in this Versace gown.
While not a lot of people can pull off this dress, Jessica Chastain wore this Alexander McQueen dress beautifully.
While I hated Cameron Diaz's hair her Gucci gown was incredible.
Gwyneth Paltrow came to the red carpet wearing a Tom Ford cape and gown.

And time for my best dressed pick of the evening, drum roll please...... Michelle Williams hands down takes the best dressed of the evening. Her Louis Vuitton coral gown was beyond amazing! She is a natural beauty and so consistent with her fashion choices, she deserves this honor! Way to go Michelle!

February Stylish Girl of the Month: Amanda Seyfried

I can't believe that February is already almost over, while there are still a few days left in the month, I couldn't wait to do my Stylish Girl of the Month for February. This month it came to me right away who was I seeing everywhere and anywhere and was obviously the best choice for SGOTM..... Amanda Seyfried of course! While I will always look at her as being the silly and not so smart blonde Karen in Mean Girls, she has made quite a name for herself and is staring in a new thriller, Gone, that I must say looks awesome! Not only is she a fabulous actress but her fashion taste is impeccable! She is never EVER seen wearing something that doesn't flatter her shape and literally has effortless style, something I envy!  She is a huge fan of designer Prabal Gurung and is seen wearing many of his dresses, but she also shines in other designers as well. Check out why I chose her as February's Stylish Girl of the Month.

from left to right:
Pink is an ideal color for Amanda she is glowing in this pink Calvin Klein dress.
While cream doesn't work on every blonde, it works on Amanda in this Prabal Gurung dress.
Most recently at the LA premiere of Gone, Amanda is a beauty in Nina Ricci.
I am obsessed with this blue Burberry cutout dress, so gorgeous!
I don't really believe Amanda could choose a bad color, here she is Prabal Gurung again and looks stunning!

Stylish Spring 2012 Trend Must Have: Printed Pants

As I have been shopping lately and narrowing down the trends I can't live without this spring, I have come across a trend that I was not so into at first, printed pants. We all know I am beyond obsessed with colored pants but printed pants had me very iffy. They reminded me of something I would have worn when I was younger, but I quickly realized that if it is done right, this trend can be incredible. I decided to shop my favorite online stores and find cute printed pants that won't break the bank and are still on trend. Check out my finds below!

from left to right:
Floral Pants, $90, Topshop
 Patterned Pants, $20, Forever 21
River Island Crop Pant, $54, ASOS
Floral Print Cropped Cord, $78, Free People
SPLURGE: Floral Sateen Slims, $118, Anthropologie
What is your take on this trend?

Stylish Online Shopping Site: Motel Rocks

I am one lucky gal in that my amazing parents are taking my sister and I on a much needed family vacation to Hawaii at the end of March and of course my biggest worry is "what the heck am I going to wear" I have been scouring all my favorite stores online and buying what I feel I need (bathing suits, dresses, shorts etc) but I am ALWAYS open to trying new online stores and diversifying my wardrobe! I was approached by the online store Motel Rocks and am still wondering how I had no idea about this AMAZING site. It is a UK originated site but inspired by a road trip the two head designers took to the states in 1999. The site is very vintage inspired with everything being on trend and edgy. It is very much the type of styles I love and their price points are great as well! I decided after spending over an hour on the site I would narrow down my favorite spring looks from the site that I feel are Stylelista approved! They have great staple items that we all need for our wardrobe along with fun and funky items to spruce our outfit up!
Ginetta Dress in Navy and Cream, $80
Leopard Skinny Pants, $60
Sassy Sway Mini Skirt, $70
Sheer Black Lace Top, $60
Tube Skirt in Pink and Navy, $70 (probably my favorite piece on the site!)

Along with their INCREDIBLE website you can find Motel Rocks on Facebook and Twitter and follow their adorable blog! Also, every online order gets free shipping! What more could you ask for when shopping online!?

New York Fashion Week Fall 2012: Beauty Recap

As much as NYFW is about the fashion its also as much about the beauty! All the latest beauty trends are always shown throughout the designer's  shows and I look forward to the beauty as much as I look forward to the fashion being displayed. This year was no disappointment as the beauty trends debuted were incredible! The 1980's seemed to be a overwhelming influence in relation to the makeup for many of the shows, flushed cheeks, bold eyes, and bright lips. The hair however was a little more random in that each show surprised me with a different type of hairstyle. From pin straight to messy buns to lots of volume, the hair seemed to however match the makeup perfectly! As far as nail trends (which happen to be my favorite) nude was seen a lot but so was nail art, which was said to be a diminishing trend! I decided to share my favorite trends from makeup, hair, and nails from the shows! Check them out below!

Stylish New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 Recap

I am SO behind on my blogging. This is the first time in over two years that I haven't done a recap post on NYFW or watched the live stream shows, but I am back and ready to redeem myself. While I may have missed NYFW I will not let London, Paris, or Milan pass me by without my stylish recaps! I thought a way to make up for missing NYFW I would do a recap of my favorite looks from all the shows. So many trends were seen at the shows in New York, some new and some old. From lady like dresses to rocker inspired looks, to plaid and retro styles, so many different trends were shown. Check out my favorite looks from the shows from my favorite designers.
